Daniel Nolan, from Southampton, informed authorities he was assaulted while out clubbing in Chiang Mai recently.

‘There was blood everywhere so I think he must have been hurt while climbing. Nobody chased after him and he even dropped his phone at my house. I will not press charges as there was barely any damage to my home.’
Major General Thawatchai Pongwiwattanachai stated the traveler’s ‘lies’ injured the province’s public image and promised to examine.
‘Making a false police report is also a crime and if the holidaymaker has deliberately done that, he will be prosecuted,’ the authorities chief included.
‘He made very serious allegations that police investigated in good faith and spent time working on.’
