One night a couple of moons back, Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey collaborated for a cooperation.
The result was “Snow on the Beach,” the 4th track off Taylor’s 2022 album Midnights Though Lana was credited as a highlighted artist, fans were a bit shocked to hear her signature voice just in the background of the tune.
Now, Lana– which co-wrote the tune with Taylor and manufacturer Jack Antonoff— lastly set the record directly on why she supplied singing assistance for Taylor rather of getting her own solo verse. As it ended up, the “Summertime Sadness” vocalist had “no idea I was the only feature.”
“Had I known, I would have sung the entire second verse like she wanted,” she described in a Billboard interview releasedFeb 24. “My job as a feature on a big artist’s album is to make sure I help add to the production of the song, so I was more focused on the production.”
