Our response to the style and makeup on season 2 of The Great? Huzzah!
The sophomore season of the Hulu series is much more extravagant and excessive as Elle Fanning‘s pregnant Catherine takes control of Russia and Peter (Nicholas Hoult) prepares yourself to enter the function of stay-at-home papa to their coming kid,Paul To show the characters’ altering characteristics, outfit designer Sharon Long and hair-and-makeup artist Louise Coles made some modifications to practically all the characters’ looks.
For Catherine, Long chose to do away with the docile and pretty appearance of season one, changing it with “powerful, stronger” patterns and including a “little bit more” precious jewelry.
In the procedure, Coles worked carefully with Long, as did Elle’s individual hairdresser Lorraine Glynn, to make sure that Catherine looked every bit like the “woman in charge.” Together, they chose to make Catherine’s hair “slightly more elaborate and stricter to the period.”
Elle’s makeup, used by makeup artist Erin Ayanian, was kept to a minimum, because, according to Coles, it was everything about offering the expectant empress “glowing skin.”
