A Virginia youth pastor has been arrested and charged with triple-homicide within the Thanksgiving Day deaths of his spouse and two different individuals.
Chesterfield County Police took 58-year-old Christopher Gattis into custody at his house at round 11:30 p.m. on Thursday evening, native station WTVR reported. He’s been charged with three counts of first-degree homicide and three counts of use of a firearm in fee of a felony.
Police found the our bodies of two ladies within the yard and a person inside the house that Gattis shared with the victims. The incident is being described as a home dispute.
On Friday, officers recognized the victims because the alleged shooter’s spouse Jeanett Gattis, her daughter Candice Kunze, and Andrew Buthorn, who’s Kunze’s boyfriend, NBC12 reported.
The Grace Lutheran Church confirmed in a press release to WTVR that Gattis works on the church as a full-time youth pastor.
“Members of Grace Lutheran Church are deeply saddened by the lack of life final evening because of three people being shot in Chester and this tragedy included members of Grace Lutheran Church,” the assertion stated. “Grace Lutheran Church has skilled many hardships over time, however this heartbreak has distinctive challenges.”
Gattis is listed on the church’s web site as the center faculty/highschool youth ministries coordinator.
He’s presently being held in custody, Chesterfield County Police stated.
