Airbnb stated Thursday that Angela Ahrendts is joining its board of directors. She’s Apple’s previous retail employer and is the 2nd lady to sign up with the house rental business’s board. 

Airbnb composed in an article that its objective is to have its board assist it reimagine travel by “building an end-to-end travel platform that combines where you stay, what you do, and how you get there, all in one place.” The business stated Ahrendts will give its board knowledge in imagination, neighborhood structure and the capability to scale.

Ahrendts left Apple in April after operating at the business for 5 years. She’d been the business’s highest-ranking and highest-profile female executive given that she signed up with the business in 2014. In her position as Apple’s head of retail, Ahrendts supervised more than 500 Apple shops in 25 nations. Chesky stated last May that the business was preparation to select a minimum of one female board member in the approaching year. He stated his objective was to bring more variety to the business’s board. In August, previous Disney and Pixar executive Ann Mather was the very first lady contributed to Airbnb’s board. 

The bulk of Silicon Valley business have boards of directors that are mainly all white and male.
