Bezos opened an investigation into the leak, led by longtime safety marketing consultant Gavin de Becker. De Becker advised media that the leak was politically motivated and has pointed the finger at Sanchez’s brother Michael, a Hollywood expertise supervisor with shut hyperlinks to Donald Trump associates.
In a surprising blogpost on Thursday, Bezos cited an e-mail from AMI deputy normal counsel, Jon Superb, to a lawyer representing de Becker. In it, AMI proposed a public acknowledgment from Bezos and de Becker that “they haven’t any data or foundation for suggesting that [AMI’s] protection was politically motivated or influenced by political forces”.
In return for such an acknowledgment, in keeping with the e-mail, AMI supplied “to not publish, distribute, share, or describe unpublished texts and images,” Bezos mentioned.
