Boxing star Khan flew out to Pakistan to spend time with brave neuroblastoma sufferer Ali Hassan as he puts misery of marriage break-up behind him
AMIR KHAN has taken his mind off his marriage woes by visiting a cancer sufferer in Pakistan he paid to have life-saving surgery.
Khan has been left reeling after the collapse of his relationship with Faryal Makhdoom last week.
The former world champion boxer was embroiled in a huge row across social media with both making accusations against each for the reason behind their split.
But he took time to get away from his own personal problems to make a visit to check on the recovery of seven-year-old neuroblastoma sufferer Ali Hassan.
Khan had heard about the plight of the boy, whose illness forced surgeons to remove his right eye, and vowed to pay for the operation to correct the fall-out from the initial surgery.
Ali, who lives in Pakpattan, suffered a reaction to having his eye removed which saw a giant tumour spreading out of the wound.
It was growing so big it was beginning to effect his ability to breath properly, and specialists feared it would swell to such a size Ali would die.
So Khan got in touch with the youngster’s parents and promised to stump up the money for the tumour to be removed – and also vowed to visit the boy when it was done.

Ali had the tumour removed last month, and Khan was true to his word by flying out to Pakistan to see the youngster and check on his recovery.
Khan said: “I flew to Pakistan Lahore last week for a day to visit Ali Hassan.
“He was the 7-year-old boy in Pakistan who had an eye tumour. It was effecting his breathing and him very badly.
“I met his father and told him I promised you he will be OK when we spoke a month ago, the kid was very quiet and didn’t speak much. He lost his hair due to medication.
“I spoke to the doctors and they where happy with his recovery.”
Khan has now returned to the UK, where he is meeting with his legal advisers as he and Faryal try to negotiate a £30million divorce agreement.
