Robotics business Anki will close its doors on Wednesday.

The San Francisco-based maker of charming mini-robots Vector and Cosmo will lay off its whole personnel, according to Recode, which reported that CEO Boris Sofman made the statement at an all-hands conference on Monday.

Nearly 200 workers will get just a week of discontinuance wage, the report kept in mind. In the days leading up to the choice to close, Sofman obviously informed them the business was frantically looking for financing after a round of funding stopped working to come through.

Anki on Wednesday verified that it is releasing its workers.

“It is with a heavy heart to announce that Anki will be letting go of our employees, effective Wednesday,” stated an Anki representative in an emailed declaration. “A significant financial deal at a late stage fell through with a strategic investor and we were not able to reach an agreement. We’re doing our best to take care of every single employee and their families, and our management team continues to explore all options available.”

Back in 2013, the business appeared to be flying high when Apple offered it a desired slot at the WWDC keynote occasion and it showcased items based upon the crossway of expert system and robotics.
