As AJ steps things up in the Middle East, back home his promoter Eddie Hearn is desperately trying to finalise things for his next fight
ANTHONY JOSHUA is mixing business with pleasure as he takes to the sands of Dubai for his latest training camp.
But back home in the UK, promoter Eddie Hearn is trying desperately to tie up the loose ends for his next fight – likely against IBF mandatory Kubrat Pulev.
Hearn is confident either October 28 or November 11 would work, with Cardiff’s Principality Stadium the favoured venue.
Las Vegas remains an option if Wales falls through.
And after taking a holiday away with his family, heavyweight champ Joshua flew on to Dubai for some warm weather training.
He did some sparring on the beach with some of his team, before posing for photos with fight fans.
Then it was time to hit the bags in the gym – proving that the visit to the Middle East wasn’t just for some fun in the sun.
WBA, IBF and IBO heavyweight champion Joshua has two mandatory fights to be made with Kubrat Pulev and Luis Ortiz.

Number one ranked heavyweight Ortiz have been ordered by the WBA to start negotiations for a fight, giving Joshua and Ortiz just 30 days from August 3 to come to an agreement.
Also, Joshua has another mandatory fight with Pulev under the IBF commission.
There is also WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder lurking in the shadows, the Bronze Bomber having called out Joshua a number of times.
Speaking to Sky Sports, promoter Eddie Hearn said: “Rather than fight anyone of note all Wilder does is call out people he knows can’t fight him.
“The IBF resolution following the Klitschko fight is a public document for everyone to see, ‘after the rematch there will be no request for a unification considered by the IBF’.”
