Anthony Joshua vs Carlos Takam: Betting tips and odds
ANTHONY JOSHUA will tell you that Carlos Takam’s “concrete head” will guarantee fans a thrilling fight that could go 10-12 rounds but he’s an even slicker salesman than a boxer.
The heavyweight champion will be gutted Kubrat Pulev pulled out with injury but he’s kidding no one when he claims the 36-year-old is a tougher test.
If sub-par WBO champ Joseph Parker can outpoint Takam as recently as May 2016 then AJ can expect to finish the reserve fighter inside six rounds.
Even on his ascendancy, Joshua blitzed through opponents with no interest in extending fights and showing off his growing skill set.
“I don’t get paid overtime” was the mantra and that rings even truer now he is at the top of the tree looking down at the rest of the shallow division.
After 14 easy wins, Josh despatched tough men like Dillian White and Dominic Breazeale in round seven and that middle distance looks attractive again.
Takam’s only KO loss came to drugs cheat Alexander Povetkin and that came in the 10th so AJ stopping his rival anywhere between rounds seven and nine poses value for money – anything shorter probably won’t cover your PPV cost.
