Youngster Stevie took aim at the American boxer on Friday afternoon, whacking him with a swift combination of blows
BILLY JOE SAUNDERS’ young son incredibly ATTACKED rival Willie Monroe Jr with a brutal punch and kick to the NUTS in Friday’s astonishing weigh-in.
Youngster Stevie, eight, took aim at the American boxer on Friday afternoon, whacking him with a swift combination of blows.
It all started off like a regular weigh-in as the pair squared up ahead of their showdown on Saturday night.
Saunders‘ lad is then seen approaching the pair, only to be ushered away.
But that doesn’t stop him, as he wriggles his way between the two boxers.
As Monroe gives the youngster a cheeky tap on the head, Stevie unleashes a venomous punch to the groin.
He follows that up by aiming a kick at the clearly startled American boxer.
All the while, Saunders stands by posing, flexing his biceps for the camera – barely flinching at his son’s below-the-belt antics.

However, following the weigh-in, he did incredibly DEFEND his son’s actions, tweeting: “My sons been taught when A stranger puts their hands on them they don’t know punch and run away self defence” [sic].
Meanwhile, Monroe laughed off the incident, with trainer TJ Nolan saying: “When you roll with a wolf pack and the leader of the pack is like Saunders is, that’s the outcome – you get screwed up little kids.
“That’s what is wrong with the world today.
“Maybe Billy Joe Saunders is teaching his kids to do wrong. He seems like a horrible person.
“It didn’t rattle Willie, he thought it was cute.
“But we are over in another country, nine of us, we’re not rattled one bit. But that little situation looks bad on British boxing.
“We knew something was going to happen but that was what you call, dare I say it, a low blow.”
This is not the first time Stevie Saunders has caused a stir.
Earlier this summer, the boxer drove Twitter crazy by letting his son jump behind the wheel of his speedy 4×4 car and whizz across a field.
The WBO middleweight champ was breaking no laws as he was on private land but concerned followers warned him against letting his little’un zoom around in the powerful motor.
The Traveller has often posted family videos of himself training with Stevie and doing pad-work as he aims to pass down his silky southpaw skills.
Colin Hart’s verdict: Alvarez to win on points, 2/1
I HAVE the distinct feeling Golovkin has passed his peak.
So it is poker-faced Alvarez on points for me. But he is wise enough to know if he should lose concentration for a second he will end up flat out on the canvas.
