An senior lady was dragged out of the method of an approaching cable car with seconds to extra by a quick-thinking bicycle rider.
The guy was waiting in traffic when he found the lady in jeopardy boiling down the street.
He leapt from his bike and pulled her to security, directly preventing being struck by the cable car himself.
The near-miss was recorded in the city of Maceio in the north-eastern Brazilian state of Alagoas on February 22.
According to regional reports, the 77- year-old lady was not able to hear the approaching cable car while she gradually mixed throughout the tracks in the area of Poco.
As the motorcyclist dragged the lady away, she obviously challenged him over what he was doing.
The pensioner, called as Rute Acioli, stated after the occurrence: ‘I didn’ t see the train, I simply understood I was falling. The kid got me and tossed me to the ground.’
The lady, who lives alone, included: “I fell over and said to him “what do you think you are doing?” Then he stated “look at the tram”.
‘That is when I looked and saw the tram passing. I did not look to the side to see the tram, I was paying attention to the cars.’
The transportation company Companhia Brasileira de Trens Urbanos (CBTU) stated the optimum speed of the cable car on that stretch is 20 kph (around 12 miles per hour) which the chauffeur decreased his speed when he saw the senior lady.
The transportation business included that pedestrians need to take care when crossing cable car lines as the lorries are not able to stop quickly.
