BRILLIANT Bryony Frost grabbed her first Grade 1 winner as she rode Black Corton to victory within the Kauto Star Novices’ Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day.

Frost has made nice strides this season and he or she took her achievements to a different degree with victory within the top-level contest.

In an eventful race, Black Corton confirmed super guts and bravado to carry off the problem of Elegant Escape.

The race modified complexion when Mia’s Storm fell on the fifth-last fence and Fountains Windfall got here down 4 out when in entrance.

That left Black Corton (4-1) at the head of affairs and Paul Nicholls’ six-year-old, winning for the seventh time since June, kept on gallantly win.

Frost said: “This little horse started off just an average little chap at the back of the class room but now he’s an A-star student.

“It just shows if you are brave what you can achieve. I’m so proud of him.

“I live for sitting on the back of a horse and he’s my hero.

“I hadn’t even remembered it was a Grade 1- it’s amazing.”

Nicholls said: “What a fantastic ride. That’s her first ride in a Grade and she’s won it.

“I so nearly didn’t run him as he’s been off his food for a couple of days and it was only yesterday he came back on it.

“He’s the most astonishing horse. This is great for everybody.”
