Bus passengers might be forgiven for doing a double tackle Wednesday when a bus embellished in Canberra’s iconic bus shelters pulls up.
Transport Canberra has wrapped a bus with the artworks of Trevor Dickinson, coinciding together with his exhibition on the Canberra Museum and Gallery.
Unveiling the brand new bus, ACT Transport Minister Meegan Fitzharris prompt the federal government had gone as far as to design the brand new community with the well-known concrete bus shelters entrance of thoughts.
“One of many issues that has been contemplated within the new design is the bus stops themselves, so we’ve tried to align the bus stops with these iconic shelters so we’ve got to maneuver much less of them,” Ms Fitzharris mentioned.
However particulars are but to be launched concerning the destiny of the concrete bus shelters themselves. Designed by Clem Cummings in 1975, there are nearly 500 of the shelters throughout the town, and a few is not going to be wanted after the dramatic modifications to bus routes take impact in early 2019.
