CANELO ALVAREZ wants the Gennady GGG Golovkin rematch to be his very next fight in 2018.
The Mexico hero tried to dethrone the middleweight champ on September 16 but was handed a controversial draw in a one-sided show most observers gave to the defending Kazakh king.
Adalaide Byrd was suspended from judging high level fights after her shocking points tally after 12 rounds.
And conspiracy theorists are concerned with the dramatic late drop in betting odds for a stalemate, plummeting from 30-1 down to 15s.
Representatives from both fighters have insisted the rematch will happen and there seems to be little in the way of another hug payday.
Canelo has been sent on holiday by his Golden Boy team but, after helping victims of the devastating earthquake in Mexico, he attended an WBA convention in nearby Colombia.
There he said: “I want it to be my first fight of 2018.
“I do not want another fight that is not the tiebreaker with Golovkin, and that’s what we’re going to try to do.
“I feel that I was the winner, but that’s boxing.
“I told everyone that it would be a great fight, I feel very happy with what I did.
“The people were happy and now they want to see the rematch.”
Golden Boy Promotions president Eric Gomez – who looks after Canelo’s match-ups – says they will not leave GGG hanging around.

Team Canelo have been in touch with Golovkin’s K2 promotions team – headed up by Tom Loeffler – and they are hopefully a new deal will not take long to finalise.
Gomez told ESPN: “I spoke to Tom a few times, and he’s certainly open to it after taking to his side, so we agreed to sit down later this week and start discussing it.
“Obviously, we’re going to give Canelo some time off and we’ll start talking to him as well.
“Immediately after the fight everybody was open to a rematch.
“I feel it was such a great fight it deserves a rematch, even besides it being such a close fight.
“Regardless of what the contract says, everybody is interested in the rematch, so it’s just a matter of us sitting down and talking.”
The first instalment took third spot for the highest gate in boxing history selling 17,318 tickets and earning £20.1 million.
Golden Boy CEO Oscar De La Hoya says Canelo is a top draw in boxing, despite GGG dominating his title defence.
De La Hoya said: “By drawing the third largest gate in history, Canelo has demonstrated once again that he is the top draw in our sport.
“And the scary thing is that he’s still only 27 years old.
“As he continues to engage in the kind of hard-fought battles he had with GGG, Canelo’s popularity will only continue to soar.”
