Tiger King altered Carole Baskin‘s life, and perhaps for the much better.

The Netflix series, which functioned as the guilty satisfaction we didn’t understand we were missing out on and certainly required for the early days of quarantine, put a big spotlight on the exotic-pet service Baskin is enthusiastic about taking apart, unlocked to unique chances like a gig on Dancing With the Stars and most significantly, assisted Big Cat Rescue survive throughout a pandemic that may have otherwise required the sanctuary to close down.

Granted, there are disadvantages to Baskin’s newly found popularity, she described in a special discussion on E!’s Daily Pop on Tuesday, Dec. 22. “The only negative impact has been people that can hide behind an email alias or people who would call me from, like, a burner phone and scream obscenities at me,” the documentary star exposed. “And that went on for three months after the show came out.”

Baskin included, “But thankfully…individuals see I am not the bad guy I was painted to be in Tiger King.”
