CHINESE Super League club Tianjin Quanjian have distanced themselves from a move for Diego Costa.
The Chelsea striker has been linked with a move to the Far East since January but the Blues are desperate to keep hold of him.
And it seems the Stamford Bridge club have been handed a boost as Quanjian have claimed they will not be drawn into paying over the odds for the Spaniard.

The statement on the club website said: “For the past six months, our club have not involved in any form of communication and negotiation with Diego Costa nor his representatives.
“Our club will draw up a rational transfer plan as an aim to improve the spectator experience of the Chinese Super League and meet its sustainability demands.
“We won’t take part in any unhealthy competition, thus preventing all overpriced signings.”

Yaya Toure to reject offers from China as he reveals determination to stay at Manchester City
SunSport revealed how Antonio Conte was desperate to keep hold of his star striker after securing the Premier League title in his first season in England.
An offer of around £60million for the 28-year-old to move to Quanjian has been on the table since January.
Sunsport pictured Costa in a London restaurant with Chinese businessmen apparently discussing an imminent move to the China Super League.
However, we understand that a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre Emerick Augbameyang is now the preferred option for Tianjin Quanjian.
Costa even revealed a move to China was not guaranteed after the Blues’ 3-0 win against Middlesbrough.
He told DIRECTVSports: “I am the owner of my future and it does not mean that I am going to China.”
