Celebrity fight alert: Courtney Love vs…Olivia Rodrigo?
The 56-year-old grunge rocker and better half of the late Kurt Cobain is implicating the 18-year-old “drivers license” vocalist and previous Disney Channel star of copying, without providing credit, the cover of her band Hole‘s 1994 album Live Through This in an advertising picture for the teenager’s upcoming SOUR Prom show movie. Both images include a senior prom queen using a tiara and spotted mascara and holding an arrangement of flowers.
“Spot the difference! #twinning! @oliviarodrigo,” Courtney composed on Instagram on Thursday, June 24, along with an image of Olivia’s discount, which the teenager shared on her own page a day previously.
Olivia reacted, “Love u and live through this sooooo much.” Courtney then responded, “Olivia – you’re welcome. My preferred flower designer remains in Notting Hill, London! Dm me for deets! I anticipate reading your note [winking face emoji].”
The Hole album cover was shot by professional photographer Ellen von Unwerth, who informed Another publication in 2019 that Courtney “had the concept of re-enacting the scene of the [1976] film Carrie, which I liked, too.”
