A bicyclist who kneed a girl in the face as she strolled with her household on Christmas Day is taking her father to court for publishing a video of the minute online.
The unnamed male, 62, states he felt threatened by the public and terrified to head out after the clip of him overturning the child on an icy course went viral.
He is taking legal action against Patrick Mpasa– who had his cam out to movie five-year-old Neia in the wintry scene– for character assassination.
Neia was strolling by her mum’s side on the snow-covered course as the bicyclist approached from behind at a nature reserve in Belgium’s Walloon area.
Just as he drew level with the little lady, the rider apparently pressed out his knee, floor covering her prior to advancing his method.
Mr Mpasa thought it was not a mishap as the male did not stop to inspect if the lady was okay.
And after he put the clip online, cops located the bicyclist.
He got away penalty after informing a court: ‘When I was riding near to the lady, I felt my rear wheel moving.
‘To prevent a fall, I stabilized myself with a motion of my knee.
‘I felt that I might have hit the girl but did not immediately realise she had been knocked over.’
A trial will be held next year to choose his character assassination claim.
Mr Mpasa stated in 2015 that, after he was recognized, the bicyclist still stopped working to state sorry.
‘He explained what happened and asked us to withdraw the police complaint but he showed no remorse and did not apologise,’ the father stated.
