UFC president White has revealed talks for the potential mega-money boxing match between the two cross-sport stars are nowhere near done
DANA WHITE says negotiations for the potential mega-money fight between boxer Floyd Mayweather and MMA’s Conor McGregor are nowhere near done.
And it has prompted the UFC president to reveal he will walk away from it all as frustration mounts on all sides of the deal.
There is little to no information on where the negotiations are at, but we do know both teams are nowhere near having it signed.
The proposed September 16th date for the bout has now been taken for the similarly eagerly-awaited middleweight fight between Gennady “GGG” Golovkin and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
White said the reason they missed that date is simply because both sides haven’t got to that stage with the negotiations yet.

‘They don’t want to fight me yet’
AJ has ALREADY booked Wembley to fight me ..but not until next April, Tyson Fury claims
He told The Herd: “The reason they got my date is because I couldn’t get the deal done on time.
“They got the date. Listen, the fights move on, we don’t wait for anybody. If the fights are gonna keep rolling, I didn’t get the deal done fast enough so I lose the date. That’s how it works.”
When asked if they are close to announcing the fight, White strenuously denied it, adding: “No, no, I’m not hinting that it’s getting close at all.
“I knew that this thing was going to be a nightmare to get done – if it can even be done.
“So yeah, we’ll find out. Obviously, both guys want to fight each other. But, what’s the deal? Can the deal be done? That’s the question.”
And White said that there will be a stage where he simply cannot continue with the “nightmare” negotiations.
He added: “It’s not even Mayweather. It’s definitely both sides of this thing. Both sides are gonna be hard to get done.
“And absolutely, there’s going to be a point where I’m done. This isn’t what I do, this isn’t my business, and I’m definitely going to walk away.”
