Masterson– whose acting credits consist of That ’70 s Show and Dracula 2000— was detained and charged in 2020 for 3 counts of rape by force or worry with 3 different ladies on different celebrations in between 2001 and 2003, according to records gotten by E! News.
Following his arrest, Masterson’s lawyer informed E! News that his customer is innocent. “Mr. Masterson is innocent,” his lawyer stated in June 2020, “and we’re confident that he will be exonerated when all the evidence finally comes to light and witnesses have the opportunity to testify.”
In January 2021, Masterson preserved his innocence by pleading innocent to all 3 counts.
While Masterson belongs to the Church of Scientology, his accusers are previous members who no longer connect with the religious beliefs. Per the Associated Press, throughout the initial hearing in May 2021, one accuser stated she did not at first report her allegation versus Masterson to the cops out of worry of being identified a “suppressive person” by the Church of Scientology.
Later that week in the initial hearing, Masterson’s lawyer pointed in court that the prosecution had anti-religious predisposition versus the Church ofScientology Karin Pouw, a Church of Scientology spokesperson, informed the LA Times at the time, “Church policy explicitly demands Scientologists abide by all laws of the land, including the reporting of crimes.”
