A newlywed couple state they got a 400 euro costs on their Greek honeymoon after buying one beer, one mixed drink and a lots oysters.
Lindsay Breen and partner Alex, both 30, claim dining establishment personnel didn’t provide a beverages menu with rates on it prior to stunning them with the amount.
Instead of getting an expense at the table, Alex states he was required to a back space to pay, and when he requested for a breakdown, he was just revealed a computer system screen, which was all in Greek.
The carpenter states he got a ‘sketchy vibe’ from the location and felt frightened, so in the end he chose to settle the costs and leave there.
Lindsay states alarm bells began sounding early on when ‘presumptuous’ personnel right away inquired ‘do you want oysters?’ followed by ‘a dozen?’.
Thinking this was a normal order, the couple from Toronto accepted. Alex requested for a beer, however whenever his partner requested for a mixed drink menu, the waiter kept noting the spirits they had however no beverages.
After little bit of back-and-forth Lindsay states she was brought a laminated paper which had kinds of alcohol however no brand names or beverages, so she opted for an aperol spritz.
Lindsay declares that the waiter then attempted serving them ‘comically large’ beverages they had not requested for and was ‘very much lurking around the table’ and attempted to plague them into buying crab legs.
‘My husband went to the toilet and when he came back, he said he thought he’ d seen a menu inside that stated it was 29 euros (₤24) per oyster and I stated there’s no chance,’ she included.
