The Department of Justice is performing a criminal examination into the development of alternate slates of governmental electors for Donald Trump as part of a strategy to reverse President Joe Biden’s win in the 2020 election, The New York Times reported Thursday.

That probe is especially concentrated on a group of lawyers who were working for Trump on that effort, The Times reported.

The paper stated that a federal grand jury in Washington previously this year provided subpoenas to individuals linked to the strategy to advance alternate electors. They inquired about Trump’s previous individual legal representative Rudy Giuliani, Jenna Ellis, Giuliani’s associate in the election cases, and another Trump legal representative, John Eastman.
