OUTBURSTS in a Bury cinema and an Australian bar sees thugs trying to beat living daylights out of each other
SO you thought the Floyd Mayweather/Conor McGregor showdown was something else.
Well, two disgraceful drunken sideshows also saw fighters going at each other hell for leather outside of the Marquess of Queensbury rules.
The only difference was two major incidents in Bury and Australia were outside of the ring…
And sadly a man caught up in the Oz scenario was treated for a stab wound.
Actually, in the case of the Bury bust-up all hell let loose as ruffians went for each other in a local cinema showing the cross-combat battle in Las Vegas in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The Bury situation got out of control at the end of MMA king McGregor’s brave bid to become the first fighter to inflict defeat on five division boxing champion Mayweather.
Cinema-goers got to their feet, set themselves up for a free-for-all just below the big screen – and wallop!
They tried to beat the living daylights out of each other.
One can only assume an outbreak of all-night drinking had something to do with the mayhem and unsavoury scenes.
Over in Oz, at Surfers Paradise Beer Garden on the Gold Coast to be precise, a 29-year-old man was stabbed in the neck during a mass brawl at a pub.

“All I can see was this bloke come upstairs, got blood all over him like he’d been stabbed,” one witness told Australia’s Nine television network.
Three people were arrested after the brawl and a 24-year-old man was charged with grievous bodily harm, police said.
Queensland Police Inspector Jim Plowman told the Australian Broadcasting Corp: “It’s just drunken thugs having a bit of a dust-up and that’s it.”
Tempers flared at Vue cinema in Bury, Gtr Manchester after the boxing fans spent the previous ten rounds of the fight boozing.
A source told The Sun: “I couldn’t believe my eyes. One minute we were watching the boxing and the next there was a real fight breaking out. The cinema had been selling alcohol and mixed the two sets of fans without any security.
“What did they think would happen? I think the police were called but it stopped by itself after about ten minutes.”
One onlooker said: “There was probably about 30 people involved. There was only about three security guards.
“The staff did their best but they were clearly outnumbered. It was clear some of the people involved had been drinking.”
Vue has 87 cinemas across the UK and Ireland.
A Vue spokeswoman said: “Vue screened the fight to over 8,500 customers across 47 cinemas. Cinemas had increased security, strict access policies and procedures and strict alcohol policies in place. We can confirm there was one incident which took place. The safety and security of our staff and customers remains our top priority at all times.”
