MICHY BATSHUAYI may be set to join Everton after Chelsea recalled him from his loan spell at Valencia.
Any move to Goodison Park would have to be permanent as the Toffees already have Blues centre-back Kurt Zouma on loan at the club.
Toffees boss Marco Silva is on the on the hunt for a striker, with current options Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin struggling to convince so far.
The club’s £44million summer signing Richarlison has filled in up top several times this season, but Silva is keen for him to move back to his favoured left-wing spot.
Batshuayi, 25, joined Chelsea from Marseille in 2016 and made 53 appearances for the club, scoring 19 goals.
However, despite scoring the title-winning goal in 2017, he failed to earn a regular starting spot at Stamford Bridge.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, impressing with nine goals in just 14 games.
Yet he has struggled at Valencia and leaves the club after 23 games and only three goals.
His time was up after being singled out by Marcelino for criticism after Valencia’s Copa Del Rey loss to Sporting Gijon.
Crystal Palace are also monitoring his situation.
Chelsea next play Newcastle in the Premier League on Saturday.
