Broidy’s attorneys say funds stopped as a result of Bechard’s lawyer mentioned the settlement with lawyer Michael Avenatti, who represents grownup movie actress Stormy Daniels in a swimsuit in opposition to Trump.
Broidy resigned as deputy finance chairman for the Republican Nationwide Committee after the affair and payoff to Bechard have been disclosed in April.
Broidy says in an announcement that the allegations are false and defamatory.
