LONDON – The world’s most significant social networks platforms are being boycotted by British sports groups, professional athletes and leading sports bodies over an absence of action relating to online abuse.
Facebook, Instagram and Twitter will be avoided from 3: 00 p.m. London time on Friday to 11: 59 p.m. on Monday.
The boycott — welcomed by sports consisting of soccer, rugby and cricket — comes as the U.S. tech giants continue to deal with criticism for stopping working to get rid of racist and sexist abuse that gets published on their platforms.
