The world’s biggest social media stated Tuesday that it now allows ads for cryptocurrencies.

But that does not imply you’ll see an entire flood of material from the almost 1,600 cryptocurrencies that’re out there. Advertisers will still need to get Facebook’s approval, sending an application that notes any licenses they might have, whether they’re traded on a public stock market, and “other relevant public background on their business,” Facebook composed in a post. The social media stated it’ll continue to forbid advertisements promoting choices and preliminary coin offerings.

In January, Facebook stopped advertisements promoting digital cash due to the fact that they were “frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices,” according to a business article at the time. The restriction would be momentary, that post stated. In Tuesday’s article, the business stated that “in the last few months, we’ve looked at the best way to refine this policy — to allow some ads while also working to ensure that they’re safe.”

Twitter, Google and Facebook all prohibited cryptocurrency advertisements, and Facebook is the very first to reduce its restraints.

“We believe that we can allow responsible advertising for cryptocurrency while still limiting deceptive or misleading ads,” a Facebook representative stated in an e-mail declaration.

Both Google and Twitter’s representative stated their policy stays the very same.
