With that being said, which keepers right now should you be considering for your team?
1 Hugo Lloris (Tottenham) – £4.5m
The Tottenham captain was a key reason for his side having 17 clean sheets last season and along the way he earned more fantasy football points than any other keeper last season.

Even with the departure of Kyle Walker it is hard to envisage Spurs not having a resolute defence this coming season and he could prove an invaluable asset to your side.
2 David De Gea (Manchester United) – £4m
Alternatively you could decide to opt for De Gea going between the sticks.
The Manchester United keeper was also vital in his team getting the joint most (17) clean sheets last season.
The United shot-stopper is also a cheaper option than Lloris and the new signing of Victor Lindelof may improve the defence even further for the coming season.
3 Jordan Pickford (Everton) – £3m
The England U21 keeper sealed his record move to Everton this summer ,and with that price-tag Everton are hoping he can deliver in front of the Goodison faithful.
After making more saves than any keeper besides Tom Heaton last season there is no doubting his potential and, now behind a more resolute Everton defence, Pickford could prove to be a valuable pick-up for your side at a decent price.
Pickford is also the most picked goalkeeper so far on Dream Team, finding his way into over 20% of teams selected.
How did Pickford get on in fantasy football last season?
- 60 Dream Team points – not bad for a goalkeeper playing for a side who finished bottom
- Highest rated goalkeeper in the Premier League (7.04) on WhoScored
- Became England’s most expensive goalkeeper when Everton signed him for £30m this summer
- Fancy Pickford to flourish? Get him in your Dream Team now
4 Petr Cech (Arsenal) – £3.5m
The record Premier League clean sheet holder is set for his third season in goal for the Gunners and will look to carry on the improved defensive form Arsenal showed at the end of last season.
Cech benefited from Arsenal’s change to a back three and in a side determined to improve on last year’s performance he could prove to be a good purchase at only £3.5m.
5 Ederson (Manchester City) – £4m
Ederson’s big-money move to Manchester City came as a statement of intent from Pep Guardiola as he looks to bounce back from his first trophy-less season as a manager.
City’s flaw last season was their vulnerable defence and Pep will certainly be addressing that before the start of the Premier League campaign.
Combined with the world-record transfer fee for a defender spent on Walker, City’s defence could be vastly improved making Ederson a strong contender to be in your side.
