Blame the florist.

The first photos inside the heavily-guarded wedding reception of Pippa Middleton and James Matthews have been leaked on social media, four days after the event.

Djordje Varda, who describes himself on his website as an “events and floral designer” reportedly posted three photos on Wednesday morning, sending a social media universe thus far deprived of photos of the post-nuptials knees-up into a bit of a spin.

Varda, who created a floral wonderland inside the glass marquee that was shipped from Belgium for the big day, has since removed the photos but not before they were copied and re-posted hundreds of times.

The photos show the marquee filled with trees that have small, white, blossom-like flowers, and tables festooned with bouquets of roses and greenery in an overall pink, white and green theme.

The flowers tie back with the green padded chairs and white napery and china.

Details of the reception have so far been scarce, partly because it was held on the private estate of the bride’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s sister, 33, married banker Matthews, 41, on Saturday in a service at St Mark’s Church in Berkshire that was attended by 150 guests.

Guests at the church included Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge and their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who acted as page boy and flower girl, respectively.

Prince Harry was also in attendance but notably absent was his girlfriend, Suits star Meghan Markle, who ostensibly stayed away so as not to upstage the bride on her big day.

For the ceremony, Middleton wore a Giles Deacon A-line gown in cotton silk lace with a high neck and capped sleeves, which is already being requested by brides around the world.

The dress reportedly cost $70,000, part of a total wedding bill that was rumoured to top $400,000.

The flowers, which based on 300 reception guests would have covered 30 tables, would likely have cost tens of thousands of pounds.

It is not yet known whether the happy couple has done a magazine deal for their reception photos but the swiftness with which Mr Varda removed the photos from his Instagram account increases the likelihood some deal has been done.

Alternatively, the couple may be simply determined to protect their privacy and that of their guests.

On his website, Mr Varda notes: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Perhaps Mr Varda, upon displeasing the almost royals, is today living his truth.
