Angry team bosses step in after Ocon accuses Perez of ‘trying to kill him twice’ as they come to blows for third time this term
FORCE INDIA duo Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon were forced to hold clear the air talks after their explosive row at the Belgian GP.
Ocon accused his teammate Perez of “trying to kill him twice” at Spa as the two came to blows for the third time this season.
Bosses at the Silverstone-based team were livid and threatened to axe one of them if they carried on their bitter feud.
But Mexican Perez sought out Ocon here in Monza ahead of the Italian GP to resolve their row in an attempt to stop further punishment.
Perez said: “We have been racing very closely lately and we have had a couple of incidents is in the last few races.
“I went to Esteban’s room and I spoke to him. The engineers had their views and it was pointless going through the incident again, so I said that we need to move on together.
“I believe that a new relationship can start now and we can work together and put the interests of the team first.
“We are mature enough. We know how to handle things. There will be some instructions coming up for us but we will be putting things in place to put the team first.”

Meanwhile, it remains unclear as to whether Perez actually apologised for the incident that ruined the two’s race.
However, Ocon is willing to move on from their latest scrape – despite his furious rant at Perez.
He added: “We both crossed the line. We cannot change what has happened and we have to move forward. We had a chat and we will behave as professionals.
“At the end all that matters is the result for the team and if there is an instruction from them, then we will follow it.”
