The title went down to the final race with three teams in with a chance of glory but Berry guided Golden Apollo to victory to wrap up top honours at Ascot on Saturday
FRAN BERRY won the Silver Saddle as he helped the Great Britain and Ireland team take victory in the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup at Ascot.
Heading into the final race, just five points separated the leading home team from their closest rivals Europe, with the Rest Of The World also in with a chance.
But Berry came out the hero as he rode Tim Easterby’s Golden Apollo to see off all his rivals.
That result saw Great Britain and Ireland end the day on a tally of 86 points, the Rest of the World second on 67, Europe third on 64 points and the Girls team coming home last on 23.
