HIGH-CLASS six-year-old Frodon heads a high discipline of 20 for the BetVictor Gold Cup.

The Paul Nicholls-trained chaser returned with a bang to win the Previous Roan Chase at Aintree final month.

He’ll shoulder 11st 12lb below Bryony Frost and is rated a 16-1 probability with the bookies.

The market is headed by Mister Whitaker (11-2) and Slightly Be (Four-1), who completed first and second on the Cheltenham Competition in March.

David Pipe runs each King’s Socks (10-1) and Eamon An Cnoic (33-1), with the previous well-supported within the betting having had a wind op since his final run.

“I’ve sat on each Eamon An Cnoic and King’s Socks – schooled them each. They appear in actually good order.

“We’re very proud of the place we’re with them, and I actually would not put anybody off both of them.”

Smart seven-year-old Kalondra (13-2) is another likely contender in the £160,000 feature.

Gary Moore holds a strong hand with Baron Alco (10-1) and Benatar (12-1).

Others in the mix include last year’s winner Splash Of Ginge (33-1) and former Champion Bumper hero Ballyandy (18-1).
