Mrs G gave birth to a daughter – the happy couple’s second child – in Los Angeles while the fighter was working in southern California
GENNADY GGG GOLOVKIN missed the birth of his baby daughter to continue training for his battle with Canelo Alvarez on Saturday night.
The baby-faced middleweight king is deep in training for the Las Vegas showdown and so he arrived two hours late for his little girl’s first ring walk.
The Kazakh star’s second child arrived while he was grafting away in the mountains of southern California when his wife went into labour in Los Angeles.
The intensely private star refused to answer questions about his missus or the latest member of the Golovkin family.
But he was happy to admit that he was free to skip the birth as the weekend’s fight is the biggest of his life.
GGG said: “It was no problem. I am very happy for this but we know my business comes first.
“The baby would come without me being there. I had done my part!
“Of course I went to see my wife and baby as soon as I could. But this fight with Canelo is the most important of my career. As it is for him. Please, do not ask about my family. Just boxing questions.”

The undefeated granite-fisted star refused to miss a second of his big-fight preparations and he is grinning from ear-to-ear.
Sanchez said: “He said, ‘Coach, the baby is going to come whether I’m there or not. I have to train’.
