    Meghan: ‘It was like having an out-of-body experience I was very present for… I think we were both really aware, even in advance of that, this wasn’t our day, this was the day that was prepared for the world.’

    Oprah asked Harry whether he ‘blindsided’ the Queen with the couple’s statement that they were going back as senior royals. 

    The Duke stated: ‘No, I would never blindside my grandmother, I have too much respect for her.’ 

    ‘Trapped’ in the royal household

    When the Duke was asked whether he would have went back as a senior royal without Meghan, he stated: ‘No, the response to your concern is no.

    ‘I myself was trapped. I didn’t see an escape. I was caught however I didn’t understand I was caught.

    ‘My father and my brother, they are trapped. They don’t get to leave.’
