Health-conscious Jesinta Franklin ends her contract with Cadbury

Jesinta Franklin’s ambassador role with Cadbury has come to an end.

David Jones launches Spring Summer trends

New trends will be shown at David Jones Spring Summer launch.

When the partnership was announced in late April the model, 26, famous for her chiselled abs and athletic physique, raised more than a few eyebrows.

The Thai kickboxing aficionado and healthy eating and living advocate declared herself “officially a chocoholic” in a deal said to be worth over $200,000.

Critics said it contradicted her brand, but Franklin, who is married to Sydney Swans forward Lance “Buddy” Franklin, defended herself saying: “I’ve never promoted a totally sugar-free diet.”

The news of the partnership ending comes after Franklin told News Corp in August that she had banned sugar and processed foods for the three months previous – which would bring her up to around the time she signed the deal.

However, a spokesperson for the brand denied they were irked by her comment and said there was an agreement reached recently to extend using her image on the Cadbury Dark Milk television commercials.

“Jesinta is not currently an ambassador for Cadbury … We loved working with Jesinta and would be pleased to work with her again in future if the opportunity arises,” the spokesperson said.

One ambassador role falling by the wayside will have little effect on the former Miss Universe Australia winner, who is fast becoming Australia’s most in-demand model.

She is the face of David Jones and Olay, a friend of Dior, and spent the week kicking up her heels in the Big Apple at New York Fashion Week as a guest of Coach, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Selena Gomez.

Franklin did not respond to a request for comment.
