A BUSY weekend of racing on ITV Saturday and I’ll be at Ascot so make sure you come and say hello if you are there!

ITV show racing from Ascot, Newmarket and Redcar, so let’s try and dig out a few winners.

The 1.50 at Ascot is the Listed Rouse Stakes over 5f, and the one I want to be on is WAADY, who on ratings has a great chance for Johnny G and Jim Crowley.

The fourth behind Take Cover last time at Newbury was a fine effort.

Next up at Ascot is the Group 3 Cumberland Lodge over nearly 1m4f at 2.25pm, and it is impossible to oppose WALDGEIST, who is a stand out on a rating of 117 for Andre Fabre.

Fourth behind Capri in the Irish Derby and second in the French equivalents, the raider should hack up.

It’s the Group 3 Bengough over 6f at 3.00pm, and Blue Point will be all the rage for Godolphin. I want to have a few quid each-way on PROJECTION for Roger Charlton.

He’s been an unlucky horse in many big handicaps and I’m sure is better than his current rating suggests. Could come home fast and late.

Finally on ITV at Ascot is the big betting handicap over 7f at 3.35pm, and the one I will have a few quid on each-way is STRAIGHT RIGHT for Andrew Balding.

He’s likely to be held up out the back by Oisin Murphy and that tactic has worked well at Ascot for Jamie Spencer in these types of races. Murphy is on a high after his recent Group 1 Foret success.

Over at Newmarket, ITV show the sprint handicap over 6f at 2.05pm, and I like the look of ROSE BERRY as an each-way chance with the excellent David Egan for Chris Dwyer.

A consistent horse at the right end of the weights.

The 2.40pm at Ascot is the Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes over 1m, and a big field goes to post.

Matt Chapman’s TV tips

1.50 Ascot – Waady: ‘Last run was a cracker and on ratings should be involved’ (add to your betslip)

2.05 Newmarket – Rose Berry: ‘Consistent performer and has a great each-way chance’ (add to your betslip)

2.25 Ascot – Waldgeist: ‘The stand out horse in the field’ (add to your betslip)

2.40 Newmarket – Qemah: ‘Classy Royal Ascot winner and can bounce back to her best’ (add to your betslip)

3.00 Ascot – Projection: ‘Been an unlucky horse and better than his results’ (add to your betslip)

3.20 Redcar – Darkanna: ‘Her form puts her in with a big chance in this field’ (add to your betslip)

3.35 Ascot – Straight Right: ‘Jockey Oisin Murphy is in great form and should suit his style’ (add to your betslip)

QEMAH has been a little in and out this season for Jean-Claude Rouget, but she was good at Royal Ascot and at her best she could quicken past this lot late in the day.

I’ll take the risk she bounces back to her best.

Finally it’s the Listed Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar at 3.20pm, and I’m all over DARKANNA for Richard Fahey.

Only beaten four lengths by Clemmie in the Cheveley Park at Newmarket last time. That could well be good enough here.

So best of luck and hope for Yeeehaaas. You Betcha!
