What else would you anticipate from a team whose origin story started on the So You Think You Can Dance set 11 years ago?
That’s when modern dancer Holker, a 8th location finisher on season 2 of SYTYCD and freestyle hip-hop expert Boss, the runner up from season 4, were tapped to go back to the studio as all stars, the very first year the series had standout participants from the previous dance with the existing crop.
One might argue the whole raison d’etre of the series has to do with bringing romance to life, whether genuine or simply believably crafted for the phase through the deft usage of choreography and significant glimpses, romantic costuming and A Great Big World ballad included for excellent procedure.
But Utah-raised Holker didn’t require a soundtrack or a couple of well-placed lifts to fall tough for Alabama native Boss, 38. “I thought he was the cutest guy ever,” she remembered to Dance Spirit in 2012 of that preliminary suspicion. “His personality was so fun.”
He, in turn, discovered himself transfixed by her efficiencies (“I’ve been brought to tears a couple times,”) and definitely drew in enough that “she did catch me checking her out in the hallway,” he confessed. “Like, bad,” she enabled.
