Hubble Spies Spectacular Changing Seasons at Jupiter and Uranus

In this fascinating image, Jupiter’s lively cloud tops are disrupted by the orange-hued moon Io, casting a shadow towards the world’s western edge. Hubble’s exceptional resolution permits us to observe Io’s speckled-orange surface area, which is credited to its plentiful active volcanoes. These fiery marvels were initially revealed throughout Voyager 1’s flyby in1979 Beneath its thin crust, Io’s interior seethes with molten product that is regularly ejected through the volcanoes. The varied color scheme of Io’s surface area develops from sulfur responding to differing temperature levels, leading to an enchanting display screen.
