Days after saying he hoped the U.S. and Iran wouldn’t go to conflict, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened Iran with destruction if it seeks a struggle.
Trump issued the warning after a rocket landed lower than a mile from the U.S. Embassy on Sunday in Baghdad’s Inexperienced Zone, additional stoking tensions within the area.
Trump tweeted: “If Iran desires to struggle, that would be the official finish of Iran. By no means threaten the USA once more!”
Iranian officers say the nation isn’t on the lookout for conflict.
Trump had appeared to melt his tone after the U.S. not too long ago despatched warships and bombers to the area to counter an alleged, unexplained risk from Iran.
On Thursday, when requested if the U.S. and Iran had been headed towards armed battle, he answered: “I hope not.”
