For Brewster, being not able to bring her children induced an entire host of various insecurities. “I didn’t know anyone else who needed gestational surrogacy,” she stated, “and then later on I found out that, like, there were people around me who did, but just didn’t talk about it.”
So as she talked with other mommies in Texas, where she was shooting TNT’s Dallas remake, and after that in her L.A. mommies’ group, she seemed like the “weirdo,” specific that everybody else was evaluating her in between talk of sleep training and stomach time.Â
“Because everyone would be like,” she remembered placing on an impacted, high voice, “‘Oh my god! You lost your infant weight so quickly!’ And I resembled, ‘Oh, I didn’t, I wasn’t able to bring.’ So then I would need to over-explain. I’m not one of those females who resembles, ‘I do not need to discuss to anybody due to the fact that it’s nobody’s service.'”
Eventually she required herself to move out of that regretful frame of mind. “I realized, you know what, the only thing that matters is that I’ve got these boys,” she discussed. “I’m fortunate enough that they’re my babies and I’m doing my absolute best. And that is all that matters.”
