The wall of a Jewish cemetery near the Auschwitz prisoner-of-war camp in Poland was ruined with swastikas and other Nazi signs over the weekend, triggering regional authorities to condemn the vandalism and pledge to punish those accountable.
Janusz Chwierut, the mayor of Oświęcim, as the town is understood in Polish, on Sunday condemned the “fascist symbols” and gotten in touch with regional police to discover and prosecute the wrongdoers.
