A federal judge needs to know more about what President Donald Trump indicated when he tweeted that he’d “fully authorized the total declassification” of files associated with the probe into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 United States elections, according to media reports.

On Friday, Judge Reggie Walton of the United States District Court in Washington, DC, purchased the United States Department of Justice to describe in composing the intent behind Trump’s tweets previously this month about the files, CNN reported. 

“I have fully authorized the overall Declassification of any & all files referring to the single biggest political CRIMINAL OFFENSE in American History, the Russia Hoax. Likewise, the Hillary Clinton Email Scandal. No redactions!” Trump tweeted. DOJ lawyers state Trump’s tweets weren’t an order to the company to declassify products associated with the Russian election disturbance probe. The DOJ didn’t right away react to an ask for remark.

News outlets, consisting of CNN and BuzzFeed, are attempting to get more access to records about the examination performed by unique district attorney Robert Mueller in between 2017 and 2019. Last week, BuzzFeed News press reporter Jason Leopold referenced Trump’s declassification tweets in an emergency situation movement looking for access to Mueller’s unredacted report.

Leopold tweeted that Walton stated throughout a Friday hearing that the president plainly showed his intent when he tweeted that he’d allow the declassification of these files. Another hearing about the case is set up for Oct. 21, according to court records.
