Vanessa Bryant is seeing some justice following the death of hubby Kobe Bryant in January.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a law on Monday, Sept. 28, that forbids very first responders from taking pictures of departed individuals at criminal offense scenes.
Assembly Bill 2655 makes it a misdemeanor punishable by approximately $1,000 for very first responders to take unapproved pictures of bodies, “other than an official law enforcement purpose or a genuine public interest.” It’s pointed out as an intrusion of personal privacy.
Vanessa took legal action against the L.A. County Sheriff and the department previously this month over dripped pictures of the helicopter crash that eliminated Kobe and their 13-year-old child, Gianna Bryant. In a court filing acquired by E! News, she stated the actions left her “confused and distraught.”
Her suit declared, “No fewer than eight sheriff’s deputies at the crash site, pulled out their personal cell phones and snapped photos of the dead children, parents and coaches. The deputies took these photos for their own personal gratification.”
The brand-new California state law works January 1, 2021.
