The headquarters of the Los Angeles Police Division (LAPD) had been set to be re-opened on Thursday after a suspicious package deal was noticed within the constructing’s mail room on Thursday evening.
The LAPD confirmed that the constructing had been evacuated at round eight:15 p.m. PT.
ABC7 and Fox 11 reported that the package deal was discovered within the mail room.
The LAPD’s headquarters are positioned at 100 W. First Avenue in downtown Los Angeles.

KTLA reporter Kimberly Cheng tweeted suspicious letter with powder inside had been mailed to the headquarters, and the evacuation occurred as a precaution.
Most staff evacuated had been civilians, Cheng added.
The LAPD tweeted “suspicious envelope containing a powdery substance” was being investigated by the hazmat crew.
It was later cleared and decided to be secure.
