THIS is the shocking moment cyclist Toms Skujins crashed out of the Tour of California road race – and was then almost mowed down by his fellow competitors.
As the race wound downhill travelling around 50mph, footage captures the Latvian coming off his bike and onto the floor after misjudging the turn.
But the brave 25-year-old, with his shirt ripped in various parts on his body, attempts to clamber up and get back on his bike.

He gets to his feet again, but is wobbly on his feet, and goes to collect something that on the floor has come off his bike.
He is clearly badly injured following the crash, and topples over after attempting to get back in the saddle.
A member of his Cannondale-Drapac, team then rushes over with a spare wheel, but it’s clear that the racer is in no position to continue.

Fellow racers then speed past, and there is one moment where he stumbles and comes centimetres from colliding into other competitors.
His team, Cannondale-Drapac, later announced that he had a concussion, a broken left collarbone and road rash. A medical evaluation was ongoing, the team said.
Speaking to BBC Sport Cannondale-Drapac sport director Tom Southam said: “Toms’ crash obviously had a huge impact on us today.
“It was a high-speed crash and unfortunately it happened at a time when the race was fragmented, which delays information and makes these situations extremely hard.
“Toms instinctively continued riding but it was clear that he couldn’t go on. It’s a blow for the team and for his own ambitions but that was a serious fall, and racing can take a back seat while he heals.”
The Latvian sportsman later tweeted a photo of him in hospital, with cuts and bruises all over his face, writing: “I would never suggest getting in a fight with tarmac because you will lose”.
