GOOD OMEN?

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha has recently moved a number of his horses to Andrew Balding’s yard and he has a smart prospect with Beat The Bank who won a Conditions event at Newmarket

LEICESTER CITY chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha bagged a winner at Newmarket ahead of his club’s crucial Champions League game against Atletico Madrid tonight.

Srivaddhanaprabha has sent a number of horses to Andrew Balding’s yard and could now have Royal Ascot ambitions with Beat The Bank.

His new trainer said: “He (Srivaddhanaprabha) is a new owner for me – he couldn’t be here as I believe they have quite a big game tonight!”

Srivaddhanaprabha also owns Group 2-winning four-year-old Donjuan Triumphant and the former Andre Fabre-trained Cleonte.

Of Beat The Bank, Balding said: “He’s already gelded so we’ve not got any great plans, but he might make up into a Jersey Stakes horse.

“There’s a Listed race back here in May (King Charles) and we might have a look at that, so I’ll discuss it with the owner.

“The brief from the owner was to try and have runners for Royal Ascot and that is the most likely target.”
