BRIGHTON are eyeing up Liverpool midfielder Kevin Stewart as their first signing as a Premier League club, according to reports.

The newly-promoted south-coast club were the first of the Championship sides to go up and have begun their summer transfer plans.

And the Telegraph are reporting that boss Chris Hughton is interested in bringing the Reds star to the club.

Liverpool are said to have put a £10milllion price-tag on the player.

A number of Championship clubs are interested in Stewart, 23, who has made a few first-team appearances under Jurgen Klopp this season.

And the German is keen on keeping him at Anfield as he wants a bigger squad to cope with their European commitments next season.

Stewart recently penned a new deal with the Merseyside club and Klopp will not sell unless a significant offer is made.

But if he wants to leave in search of regular first-team action, Klopp will not stand in his way.

Meanwhile, the Reds are set to battle it out with Manchester United, Tottenham and Everton for Michael Keane.
