Just as Uber’s stock exchange launching leaves to a rocky start, competing ride-hailing business Lyft is checking out the possibility of cars and truck leasings in San Francisco.

Lyft stated its vision is to decrease the requirement for individual cars and truck ownership. As part of a little test, Lyft is try out letting riders lease cars and trucks for long-distance journeys.

Lyft users will pay about $60 daily to lease a basic sedan and $100 daily for an SUV, according to a report Friday from Engadget. It’s unidentified at this time the number of individuals are taking part in the test and the number of automobiles are offered for lease. The automobiles are supposedly brand-new and there aren’t any mileage caps or alternatives for per hour leasings.

“We’re constantly adding multimodal options so people can use Lyft for any kind of trip. We’ve added bikes, scooters, and public transit info into the app in cities across the country, and we’re currently testing a small-scale rental option for long-distance trips, like a weekend away,” a Lyft representative verified on Friday.
