Oscar-nominated actress Maggie Gyllenhaal known as in an enormous favor from her Hollywood friends to help in an American Civil Liberties Union video to deal with President Donald Trump’s “zero-tolerance” immigration coverage that has separated practically 2,000 kids from their mother and father, who had been caught crossing the border illegally.
On Tuesday, the ACLU launched a four-minute video titled, “My Title is Mirian” that reveals stars Amy Schumer, James Franco, Chadwick Boseman, Jamie Lee Curtis and plenty of others studying the story of Mirian, an asylum-seeking Honduran mom who was separated from her 18-month-old son in April.
The letter particulars Mirian’s expertise during which she fled Honduras in January in search of safety from authorities violence after her residence was tear-gassed. Mirian claimed Border Patrol officers on the U.S. – Mexico border “didn’t present any cause” for separating her from her son who turned two on July four.
Gyllenhaal created the video together with Lee Gelernt, deputy director of the ACLU’s Immigrants’ Rights Undertaking, which Mirian is concerned with as a part of a lawsuit towards the U.S. authorities for separating migrant households.
